Rani sleek black chiffon saree

Rani does the navel thing in sleek black chiffon sari

Somebody pointed out to us recently that Rani Mukherji is being seen more and more in super low below the navel saris. Our demure Ms. Mukherji? No way we thought. And then we found a picture of her in a low-low red chiffon sari. Then she got an honorable mention on our sexy sari navel awards. And now here’s a picture of her showing off her stuff in a black chiffon.

To be sure, Rani does the low rise sari much more subtly than, say, Shilpa. She always keeps her pallu in place. But behind that chiffon, Rani is daring to bare a bit more these days!

Kadhal Meipada saree

I want to say that this is a great saree, except that I promised a little girl today that I will not lie and I want to keep my promise for at least an hour.

The whole yellow thing, including the yellow earrings and plastic yellow bangles and sequined yellow blouse makes her look like a big bird from Sesame Street.

This is lazy person’s idea of cute, it is not “design”; this looks something from 70’s.

NY times said that the movie was not just un-funny; it was actually anti-funny. But another friend of mine, who went with very little expectations, thought it was pretty funny, in a sophomoric way.

Let’s forget about the movie and appreciate and admire the saree that was designed by Gurpreeet Pia of NY.

Jessica Alba acquires this label that is actually dreaded by many desi women in US, the E label - which stands for Exotic.

She carries off the faux saree well!
