HIjab and Saree

Love the saree; I wished she had chosen a coordinating hijab. Also notice the long sleeve blouse, as is required by the religious code.

One of the reader wrote to me a couple of weeks ago “Can anyone please send me pictures of women or muslimahs wearing sarees with their head scarfs(hijab) on?”

So here it is.

I think there is a need for a saree line that is more responsive to the requirement of muslim women.

It needs to have a longer blouse piece - so full length blouse can be made and it needs to allow for the possibility of hijab as an additional element of the saree.

Belly button piercing and saree

The most notable part of this picture is the belly button piercing. I can’t think of any other garment that would allow you to show off the belly button piercing more than saree would, but I don’t see it as often.

I don’t understand this design; the color of the blouse and accessories seem a tad incongruent. But may be that is the statement being made!

I haven’t seen the movie inspired by Raja Ravi Ram Verma as yet. But the stills for the movies are very appealing.

Also, just as an aside; one of his painting sold for $1.5M yesterday! Indian art market is going through a renewed interest.

Nice saree, but not an ultimate in fashion

Enough with hyperbole, please. It is a nice saree, good looking matching blouse with sequined edging, but there is a long ways to go to “ultimate in fashion”.
